Precision laser cutting for sheet and plate

Our fibre laser cutting service is the starting point for most fabrication jobs. We cut mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium sheets and plates to your DXF drawing, with clean cut edges, tight tolerances and fast turnaround. Whether you need a single prototype part or a repeat production run, our laser cutter handles it efficiently and accurately.

Laser cutting has replaced traditional sawing, drilling and punching for most sheet metal work because it is faster, more accurate and more flexible. One program runs any shape you can draw — no tooling changes, no set-up time between different parts. That means we can nest multiple parts on a single sheet, minimise material waste, and turn jobs around in days rather than weeks.

What we cut

Mild Steel

Up to medium plate thickness, ideal for brackets, frames, base plates and structural components.

Stainless Steel

304 and 316 grades, for architectural, food-grade and corrosion-resistant applications.

Aluminium

Lightweight panels, enclosures and frames for marine, commercial and equipment use.

Complex Shapes

Holes, slots, cutouts, contours — any 2D profile your drawing requires.

How it works

Send us your DXF file (or a PDF sketch and we'll redraw it). We review the drawing for any issues — tight internal corners, thin webs that might warp, or features that need a different process. We then nest your parts on the optimal sheet size, set the cutting parameters for your material and thickness, and run the job. First-off samples are measured before we cut the full batch.

Because laser cutting is a non-contact process, there is no mechanical force distorting thin sheets or delicate parts. Cut edges are clean and square, with minimal heat-affected zone, so parts come off the machine ready for bending, welding or finishing — no deburring required for most applications.

Advantages of laser cutting

  • No tooling costs: Unlike punching or stamping, laser cutting uses no dedicated tools. Any shape, any quantity, same setup cost.
  • Fast turnaround: Most cutting jobs run within days, not weeks. Prototype parts can often be cut same-week.
  • Material efficiency: Nesting software packs parts tightly on the sheet, minimising scrap and reducing your material cost.
  • Design flexibility: Change your design after we've started? A new DXF file is all we need — no retooling.
  • Consistent quality: Every part is cut from the same program, so run 1 or run 100, they're identical.

Typical applications

We cut laser parts for a wide range of clients: shopfitters needing brackets and fixings, engineers requiring custom mounting plates, fabricators producing balustrade components, and equipment manufacturers running repeat production batches. Common parts include: mounting brackets, base plates, gussets, cleats, flanges, panels with cutouts, custom profiles, and one-off prototype components.

Cutting capacity

Our fibre laser handles sheet and plate in mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium. We cut parts from prototype quantities through to production batches. For production runs, we nest parts efficiently on the sheet to minimise waste and keep your material cost down.

Accepted file formats: DXF, DWG, STEP. PDF sketches are fine for first discussion — we'll confirm dimensions before cutting.

Quality control

Before we cut a full batch, we run a first-off part and measure it against the drawing. Hole positions, dimensions, cut quality — all checked. Once the first-off is approved, we run the rest of the batch to the same standard. You get consistent, accurate parts every time.
