Stainless balustrades and handrails

Balustrades and handrails are visible, architectural work — the finish has to be right. We fabricate stainless steel balustrade systems, handrails, glass clamps and infill panels in 304 and 316 grades, with TIG welding, dressing and finishing to match the surrounding architecture.

Good balustrade fabrication is in the details: clean mitred corners, smooth dressed welds, consistent brush finish, and posts and rails that line up perfectly when installed. We take care of all of it — from template to installation — so the finished work looks seamless.

Common balustrade projects

  • Glass balustrade systems with stainless posts
  • Wire balustrade and cable rail systems
  • Stainless tube handrails for stairs and ramps
  • Commercial fit-out handrails and barriers
  • Pool and coastal balustrades in 316 grade

Balustrade fabrication details

Balustrade work is visible, architectural, and held to a high finish standard. We fabricate in 304 stainless for interior and general exterior use, and 316 for coastal, pool and high-corrosion environments. All TIG welds are dressed smooth and finished to match the surrounding grain direction — brushed, satin or mirror as specified.

We template on site where dimensions are critical, especially on curved or sloping runs. A balustrade that's fabricated to nominal dimensions won't fit a floor that's not level. By measuring on site and building tolerances into the shop drawing, we ensure the finished work lines up perfectly.

Compliance and safety

Balustrades are safety-critical elements. We fabricate to the relevant Australian Standards for height, infill and load requirements, and we can advise on compliance for your specific application. Handrails must be graspable, balustrades must resist the required loads, and glass must be the correct thickness and type for the application.
